Ring 09

The ring is the visual result of an algorithm programmed in processing. The algorithm determines the behaviour of the used elements like point, line or triangle, but leaves a certain room for interpretation. Within the borders of the given space, the behaviour of the elements stays unpredictable.

Algorithm
This ring uses a physical simulation. It is constructed from 100 points that are connected by a curved line. Each point is connected to its neighbours by a virtual spring. A force is applied and as the ring moves and deforms, a screenshot is taken every 10th frame.
